Mahaska Communication Group has been developing its communication services since a key opportunity arose in 1999. Iowa Network Services agreed to provide Musco, (MCG’s parent company) with complete communication capabilities normally available only to wholesale communication businesses such as traditional telephone companies, cable television providers, and modern Internet providers. As Musco developed high-speed Internet services for its organization, they realized how limited the services were for employees and for other businesses in the community. As a result, a decision was made that a local service provider such as Mahaska Communication Group was needed.
Mahaska Communication Group has continued to expand its area of service around Mahaska County. Some of the businesses utilizing our fiber optic network include: The City of Oskaloosa and Mahaska County employees, William Penn University, North Mahaska and Eddyville-Blakesburg Public Schools, Oskaloosa Public and Christian Schools, Mahaska Health Partnership and the Oskaloosa Public Library.
