To keep residents of the MCG service area informed, MCG offers two community access channels. These channels - 7 & 12, provide residents with local news about upcoming events. They also air locally produced broadcasts of government meetings, church services, sporting events, and other programming.

Communication Research Institute of William Penn University (CRI) is a non-profit educational organization providing television programming for Oskaloosa on MCG's local access channels.  CRI shows focus on the community of Oskaloosa and the surrounding Mahaska County area.

The Oskaloosa High School offers students several classes in video and broadcasting. Students work with equipment, receive hands-on training and produce programs that air on MCG local access channels.  MCG television customers can watch high school events which include football games, basketball games, wrestling meets, volleyball games, and non sporting events like the annual red carpet prom ceremony.
