“When it comes to communications, MCG has the best game around. They have laid over 200 miles of fiberoptics cable around Oskaloosa and now offer the best communications package just about everywhere in town. They offer phone, digital television and high-speed Internet all in one easy package price. They do things right at MCG.”
MCG Announces Price Decrease
Oskaloosa, IA - Mahaska Communication Group (MCG), made history early in 2004 by implementing a new fiber-to-the-home network which delivers state-of-the-art communication services to the Mahaska Community. It is now making history again by decreasing prices to new and existing residential customers. According to Frank Hansen, MCG General Manager, the price decrease is a result of MCG’s commitment to new technology and reduced costs on the system.
“In an ongoing commitment to offer our customers the highest quality services at the most competitive prices,” said Hansen, “we are excited about being able to announce this price decrease. As more customers have switched to MCG for telephone, high-speed Internet, and digital television services, we have been able to lower our costs, and we are passing those reductions on to our customers – all customers, new and existing.”
According to Hansen, residential customer savings will average nearly $20 per month with the new pricing which begins June 1. An example of the price decline is a new option allowing customers to connect up to five televisions free of charge instead of the $5 per set-top box currently charged.
Along with the price decline, MCG is offering new packages of communications services. Customers can also look forward to MCG’s local channel featuring community information and broadcasts of local events as well as video-on-demand and personal video recorders later this year.
All services through MCG utilize a fiber optic network which is being deployed throughout the Oskaloosa city limits and surrounding areas. Hansen estimates fiber placement will be complete within the city limits of Oskaloosa by July 2005 and in adjacent planned areas by August.
“We are committed to meeting or exceeding our customers’
expectations for service and value,” Hansen added, “and we are committed
to providing superior services for our community.”
