MCG brings you both local and long-distance telephone service at an affordable price. You can choose from 20 calling features or the MCG Calling Feature package with Caller ID and 3 other features of your choice.

Long Distance

With MCG long distance, you only pay for what you use. There are no minimum usage requirements or long-distance access fees. You must be an MCG local telephone customer to be eligible for MCG long distance service.

Anonymous Call Rejection

Customer must have Caller ID to use this feature. This gives the customer the ability to reject calls from people who intentionally blocked their information from Caller ID. Only calls that have the information block are rejected.

Automatic Call Back

Automatically redials the last number a customer dials. If the dialed number is busy, a special tone will alert the customer when the number is no longer busy.

Call Forwarding

This feature includes all of the following:

  • Call Forwarding — Basic: All incoming calls can be forwarded to another phone number. The secondary number is pre-selected by the customer.
  • Call Forwarding — Busy Line: Allows incoming calls to be forwarded to a predetermined number if the dialed number is busy.
  • Call Forwarding — Busy Line Programmable: Allows incoming calls to be forwarded to another number when the dialed number is busy. The customer can activate and deactivate the feature and change the forward number to another number by dialing a code.
  • Call Forwarding — No Answer: Allows a customer to have incoming calls forwarded to a pre-selected number if there is no answer within a preset number of rings.
  • Call Forwarding — No Answer Programmable: Allows a customer to have incoming calls forwarded if there is no answer within a preset number of rings. The customer can activate and deactivate the forwarding feature, as well as set or change the forwarding number by dialing a code.
  • Call Forwarding — Remote Activation: Allows a customer to activate, deactivate, or change the options of the forwarding features from another location.

Call Hold

Incoming calls may be placed on hold and retrieved from the same or another extension.

Call Rejection

A customer may reject call attempts from up to 20 numbers by dialing a code and the telephone number of the calls to be rejected. Any call attempts to the customer from these numbers will be prevented from reaching the customer and will instead be connected to an announcement informing the caller that the party being called is not accepting calls from this number. A customer may also reject calls from the most recent incoming call received by dialing a code after the call is completed.

Call Transfer

A customer may transfer any established call to another number by using a switch hook. This feature also uses a switch hook to place the caller on consultation hold.

Call Waiting

This feature alerts a customer while on the phone that someone is trying to call them by means of a tone sound. This also permits the first call to be put on hold so that the second call may be answered.

Caller ID

Allows for the display of the calling party's name and/or number on caller identification equipment.

Caller ID Block

This feature will be displayed as “private” to all called parties that subscribe to Caller ID. It should be noted however that some calls to parties that have chosen to reject unidentified callers might be blocked. Information will not be provided to poison control centers, hospitals, medical centers and others who might use Caller ID to provide assistance*. 911 services will not be affected.

*NOTE: The customer must acknowledge the consequences of the above and release MCG from all claims and liability, including personal injury caused by its errors, omissions and operation or malfunction of Per Line Blocking Service.

Continuous Redial

Automatically redials the last number a customer dials. If the dialed number is busy, a special tone will alert the customer when the number is no longer busy.

Direct Call Pick Up

Allows a customer to answer a call during the ringing cycle that is directed to another line by dialing a pre-set access code and the telephone number of the line to be answered. Both lines must be equipped with this feature.

Distinctive Alert

A customer may receive a call waiting tone or Distinctive Ringing signal from a line equipped with Dial Call Waiting. If the dialed number is not in use, a Distinctive Ringing signal will be heard. If the line is busy, the dialed number receives a Call Waiting tone.

Distinctive Ring

Provides up to three distinctive ring codes for incoming calls, using only one line. This is available with or without a directory listing.

Hotline Service

Allows a customer to establish a connection to a predetermined number when the customer’s telephone is off the hook. No dialing is required and the call is automatically processed.

Last Call ID

Enables a customer to receive a voice message identifying date, time, and number of the last incoming call.

Priority Call

A customer may assign a maximum of 20 callers' phone numbers to a special list. The customer will hear a distinctive ring when a caller from the list places a call to the customer.

Remote Call Forwarding

This service automatically forwards a call placed to a customer's telephone number in one place to another customer-designated line. (Used for businesses that are not in Oskaloosa)

Selective Call Forwarding

Allows a customer to specify a maximum of 8 telephone numbers that will automatically be forwarded to predetermined telephone number. All other calls will be handled normally.

Speed Calling

Enables a customer to place calls to other telephone numbers by dialing a one- or two-digit code rather than a complete telephone number. Customers may subscribe to either the 8 Code capacity or 30 Code capacity on the same line.

Three-Way Calling

Enables a customer to add a third party to an existing call without operator assistance.

Voicemail

Voicemail acts as a messaging service. You can retrieve messages from anywhere. With your phone number as your user ID and a secure password, you have the convenience of checking your messages at your leisure.
